Takayasu arteritis in childhood

Fragestellung

The aim of the study is to investigate children with TA and to evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic parameters to optimize outcome and to prevent artherosclerotic complications of TA predisposing for stroke, renal failure and myocardial infarction. Greater understanding of the spectrum of presentation of TA in childhood and adolescence will discover non recognized patients, shorten the delay of diagnosis and will establish the opportunity for an early treatment.

Konzept

The Juvenile Takayasu arteritis study is a retrospective, longitudinal crossectional study  performed at a single tertiary care center. It was created under the guidance of the Pediatric vasculitis network group of the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatism Research Alliance (CARRA). All North American Pediatric Rheumatology centers are contributing.
